Conor McGregor has received praise from his co-star Jake Gyllenhaal. The former UFC star is set to make his Hollywood debut in the upcoming movie ‘Road House’ remake. The movie will be released for streaming on Prime Video next week.
In the movie, Conor McGregor will be seen alongside Hollywood A-lister Jake Gyllenhaal. The actor is famous for his work in movies like ‘Nightcrawler’ and ‘Prisoners’. Speaking about working with the former UFC champion, Gyllenhaal praised him for his approach while filming the movie.
During a recent interview with MMA Junkie, Jake Gyllenhaal spoke highly of Conor McGregor’s attitude and humility while working on the movie. He said:
“With Conor when he came to the movie set. He came in and said, ‘I’m a white belt. I’m here to learn. I don’t know anything about making movies or acting, and I want to learn.”
Further, Jake Gyllenhaal suggested that he kept the same humility while working on the film which is based on combat sports, and suggested that he has great respect for it. He said:
“That type of humility in that space, I tried to bring the same way in the opposite end. I don’t know that much about the fight game. I have great respect for it, and I wanted to learn.”

Conor McGregor eyes UFC return despite movie release
Conor McGregor has been out of action since his July 2021 bout against Dustin Poirer. In the fight, he suffered a nasty leg injury. Since then, he has spoken about returning to the UFC multiple times but nothing has been finalized as of yet.

Interestingly, Dana White also spoke about McGregor’s return recently and suggested that with everything that the Irishman has going on, it’s hard to book a fight for him.
However, despite this Conor McGregor seems to be focused on returning to the fight game. During a recent interview, McGregor was asked about potentially pursuing a career in acting. ‘The Notorious’ downplayed the possibility and suggested that it might be something down the line.
Furthermore, he opined on how he wants to focus on returning to the UFC as of now. While suggesting that he aims to return to fighting as soon as possible, he said:
“Right now… Hopefully, I get a fight date booked. I’m looking to compete a couple of times by the end of the year. I’d love 2 fights in by the end of the year…But for me, my game inside that octagon is far from over.”
