Ilia Topuria has been calling for a superfight with McGregor for quite some time. He believes that the fight will break records. But Conor McGregor is not exactly jumping at the chance. The UFC’s resident loudmouth is at it again, and this time, his sights are set on verbally bashing Ilia Topuria, the newly crowned featherweight champion.
During a recent Duelbits live stream, McGregor unleashed a tirade against ‘El Matador.’ ‘The Notorious’ revealed his game plan to take on the new featherweight champion, keeping on focus his height.
“I’d grab him by the scruff of the chest and slap that little nose off him, yeah. Little ding dong of a thing he is…You little fool, I’ll cave your head in. You little short a** tick, I’ll box your jaw in on site.”
Conor McGregor’s creativity in trash talk truly shines as he called Topuria a “little short a** tick.” It must be noted that there is not much height difference between the two. As per UFC stats, ‘El Matador’ is 5 feet 7 inches, while ‘The Notorious’ is listed at 5 feet 9 inches. A two-inch difference in height makes McGregor feel like ‘The Mountain’ from Game of Thrones!
This whole situation is peak McGregor. He’s taking a potential superfight and turning it into a comedy roast. It’s his signature move – part promotion, part provocation, all entertainment. And fans are all in for it.
Ilia Topuria No Longer Interested In Fighting Conor McGregor
Topuria’s rise in the UFC has been nothing short of meteoric. The undefeated Georgian-Spanish fighter burst onto the scene in 2020, quickly making a name for himself. He was asking for the McGregor fight for quite a long time. But now, he is fully over it.

In a recent interview with Ibai, ‘El Matador’ threw some serious shade at the Irish superstar. He claimed Conor McGregor wasn’t worth his time anymore and that better opportunities were waiting for him.
“I’m telling you that if they offered me a fight with [McGregor], I’d say no because there are bigger fights than him.”
Many fighters would sell their souls for a McGregor matchup. But for Topuria, those days seem long gone. The champ went on to say McGregor now represents “alcohol and drugs” more than the sport. The fighter Ilia Topuria once idolized has now become an afterthought for him.
