Former UFC double champion Conor McGregor has opened up about his potential return to the UFC.
McGregor has been out of action for nearly three years. He was last seen inside the octagan back in July 2021 against Dustin Poirier in a trilogy fight. On the night, he ended up injuring his foot and lost the fight via doctor’s stoppage. Since then, he has been teased to return a number of times, however, it hasn’t happened yet. He was billed to fight last year against Michael Chandler however the dates kept on getting pushed.

At the start of this year, Conor McGregor claimed that he would be back in the summer. However, Dana White subsequently went on to claim that his return might be delayed further. Speaking about the same during a media interaction ahead of the release of his debut movie Road House, McGregor claimed that he is looking to wrap up the formalities linked to the movie and will return to training as soon as they are done. He said:
“I just wish to get a bit more consistency with my training. Am I flat out right now? No, I’m not flat out right now, but I have been. I was scheduling for early this year, I was scheduling for January, I was scheduling for December even before that. I had camps set up. I had a camp out in Cannes in the south of France, I had a camp in Dubai also, with some world champions with me.”

Conor McGregor had to learn how to fake fight reveals Jake Gyllenhaal
As mentioned earlier, Conor McGregor made his Hollywood debut in the film Road House. The former UFC fighter will be seen alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in the Hollywood remake.
The movie features a number of fight sequences and as revealed by Jake Gyllenhaal, Conor McGregor risked real damage during the filming. Gyllenhaal recently revealed that it became sort of challenging for McGregor to learn how to fake fight. During an interview with MMA Junkie, he said:
“I’ve worked with a lot of ex-fighters but they’ve learned how to be stunt people know in that sense they know how to fake fight. I think Conor had a learning curve. He had to learn.”

That said, it will be interesting to see how Conot McGregor has done with his Hollywood debut when the movie releases on Amazon Prime Video next week.
