Since then, he’s been itching to get back in the octagon, but lady luck’s been giving him the cold shoulder. Well, now, it seems ‘The Notorious’ has found a new target for his infamous trash talk. The Irish superstar is at it again, and this time, Belal Muhammad is in his crosshairs.
Someone posted a clip of Muhammad getting knocked out, and it lit a fire under McGregor. He went on a Twitter rampage insulting the current welterweight champ and made a threat to take what he believes is his.
“I’d love to crush my left hook into Belal’s temple and take down the triple crown. Would do it easily and fast. I’d cave his skull heavy! The hurdles I face getting back to the octagon are just harrowing. I’m so sad over my June 29th fight cancellation.”
Conor McGregor’s main beef is Belal Muhammad’s lack of knockdowns. He called the champ “the UFC’s most abysmal zero-revenue-generating fighter.” But the ‘Notorious’ wasn’t done. He believed that he could become the first triple champ, aiming at the welterweight belt.
But Belal Muhammad already has a dance partner. He is set to defend his title against Shavkat Rakhmonov at UFC 310 in December. But it does beg the question: Is McGregor seriously eyeing the welterweight throne, or is this just another chapter in the “Notorious” book of attention-grabbing antics? Only time will tell.

Recently, two champions from different weight classes decided to duke it out – not in the Octagon, but on social media. Welterweight champ Muhammad and featherweight titleholder Ilia Topuria got into a heated exchange.

It all started when Topuria, riding high on his perfect record, took a swipe at Muhammad. He called the welterweight champ a “crotch sniffer” – not exactly Shakespeare, but it got the job done. Belal Muhammad, never one to back down from a challenge, fired back with a zinger of his own.

The ‘Diddy’ jab was a clever play on words, comparing Topuria to the famous rapper. Belal Muhammad wasn’t done yet. He compared Topuria to Colby Covington – the UFC’s resident controversy magnet. He dubbed Topuria the “Georgian version of Colby Covington!”
