Just hours after sending an NBA mascot to the emergency room during a halftime skit gone wrong, MMA fighter Conor McGregor was accused of allegedly trying to rape a woman inside the bathroom of a private club at the arena where the Miami Heat were playing in the NBA finals.
Attorney Ariel Mitchell, who represents the woman accusing McGregor, stated that the UFC superstar got the woman separated from her friend and allegedly trapped her inside a men’s bathroom following the game between the Miami Heat and the Denver Nuggets.
The lawsuit claims McGregor attempted to rape her multiple times, at one point ripping the waistband of her pants while pulling them down. The woman contacted police as soon as she recovered her handbag.
Footage has since been released showing McGregor leading the woman somewhere, but they also show them at a table together after the alleged rape and nothing seems weird between them.
This week, Ariel Mitchell is making another shocking claim that officials at the Miami Heat and the NBA have been scrambling to keep the alleged incident quiet.
Mitchell told the Daily Mail: “The NBA offered us $100,000 to keep this quiet. They rescinded the offer when the news broke.”

However, Mike Bass, the NBA’s chief communications officer, denied the alleged victim was offered any money.
He described the claim as “categorically false.”
The lawyer said the woman is seeking settlements with the NBA, the Heat, and McGregor. Mitchell further accused the Heat and the Miami police of “mishandling” the aftermath of the alleged attack.
“My client didn’t seek out money first.
“On Sunday, before she hired me or sought out any legal counsel, she went to the police directly.
“And the police escorted her out of the building and told her that if she were to report it right then, within 20 minutes, it would go viral and that she should seek legal counsel to either try to resolve this before she filed a report or to help her navigate it if she did file a report.
“Sunday night, she contacted a former client of mine and then they contacted me.
“On Monday I sent out the demand letters.”
In a statement, McGregor’s lawyer Barbara Llanes said that the accuser’s claims of sexual assault are nothing more than a get-rich-quick scheme.
McGregor is no stranger to controversy or sexual assault as he was investigated for alleged sexual assault in Ireland back in 2019. Also in 2019, McGregor was arrested for allegedly stomping on a male fan’s phone in Florida.
Days after the allegation, McGregor’s pregnant fiancée Dee Devlin could be seen posing in photos that were shared on McGregor’s Instagram.
The pair are expecting their fourth child together and have been together since 2008.
