UFC 303 is upon us. The MMA world has been waiting for the return of Mac Conor McGregor to the octagon lately. Conor is all set to return to the cage later this month in the fight week. As it turns out, many rumors have gone around claiming that the UFC might cancel the main event involving Conor McGregor in the octagon.
Former champion and future Hall of Famer Kamaru Usman ended all the rumors in the MMA circles.
Kamaru Usman clears the air on Conor McGregor and UFC 303
Kamaru Usman is the former Welterweight champion and has beaten a ton of great welterweights in the cage. The man knows what goes on at the absolute top of the UFC. Recently, on his YouTube channel, he brushed off the rumors that the main event of UFC 303 was off. Usman, in a conversation with Henry Cejudo, said,
Most of those (rumors) aren’t even true. First and foremost it’s not like they are not promoting that. They are promoting that.
Usman clarified that the fight was going ahead as the UFC had not stalled the promotion of UFC 303. Kamaru chuckled at some of the rumors and clarified that he was sure that the fight was going to go ahead, and the reports that the fight would be called off were all false. Kamaru has been to the absolute top of the UFC pyramid and headlined various PPV events. The fans can be convinced that the Nigerian Nightmare knows what he’s been discussing.
The Welterweight great is taking a much more optimistic route ahead of the UFC 303. It will be interesting to see what happens in the upcoming weeks and if the UFC will give us an update shortly. The MMA world would want the Mac to make his return this month and complete his much-anticipated return to the octagon. Will we see the former two-division champion in the cage later this month? Only time will tell.
