Dana White, the CEO of the UFC, has faced criticism for the organization’s pay structure. However, the CEO has also garnered immense praise for his charitable endeavors and unyielding loyalty to his friends and colleagues. Commentator Jon Anik recently shared one such instance.
Anik and White are Bostonians, though they reside in Florida and Las Vegas. The Boston Celtics recently won the 2024 NBA title. White was courtside for many of the games, and he even took Anik to Game 4 of the NBA finals, the only game the Celtics lost to the Dallas Mavericks.
Jon Anik Praises Dana White for Generous Courtside Celtics Tickets Gift
In addition to being the UFC commentator, Anik is co-host of the Anik and Florian podcast with Kenny Florian, an ex-UFC fighter and commentator. In a recent podcast episode, Anik praised the UFC’s head honcho.
“Dana White probably spent $80,000 for four of us to go sit courtside. It is the most incredible, generous gift that I have ever received,” said Anik, revealing he couldn’t sleep for 72 hours because he was so excited to sit courtside and watch the Boston Celtics.
Though Anik and White were met with dismay at Game 4, when the Celtics lost 122-84, the Celtics won the finals with a 106-88 victory in Game 5. Jaylene Brown, who won the Bill Russell NBA Finals Most Valuable Player award, credited Jayson Tatum with the victory.
Jon Anik’s upcoming commentary assignment will be on UFC Saudi Arabia. In the main event, Robert Whittaker will put his rankings on the line against Ikram Aliskerov, the unranked Dagestani who replaced Khamzat Chimaev on short notice.
