Colby Covington has built a reputation as one of MMA’s most ruthless trash talkers, alongside figures like Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz. His brutal remarks have targeted everyone from LeBron James to Leon Edwards. Now, Covington is shifting his focus to Kamaru Usman, claiming he can’t respect him and calling him a cheater. This move is just another example of Covington’s unfiltered and savage approach to getting under the skin of his opponents.
There’s a saying in the UFC that rivalries end when the final round bell rings, but Colby Covington clearly doesn’t buy into it. Despite Kamaru Usman no longer being the champion, Covington is still dragging their heated rivalry, which saw two epic fights. ‘Chaos’ continues to take shots at Usman, even calling him the opponent he hates the most. The bad blood between them doesn’t look like it’s cooling off anytime soon.
He said, “Just because he’s a cheater and he’s a coward. He definitely cheated multiple times in our fights so I just can’t respect someone that cheats in a fight. I’ve never cheated. And I’ve done everything the right way. I didn’t cut corners, didn’t ask for shortcuts, had to go the long way.”

Covington hasn’t let go of his bitterness towards ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’, claiming that Usman took shortcuts to win, while he’s struggling and taking the right path. The two defeats to Usman still seem to sting for Covington. While a trilogy fight seems unlikely, it would certainly be interesting if it ever happens.
