Conor McGregor is set to finally return to the octagon this summer. He was previously seen in action against Dustin Poirier back in 2021.
In that fight, McGregor suffered a nasty leg injury, which kept him out of action. Since then, there has been a lot of speculation surrounding his return, and at one point, it looked like he would never fight again.
However, that is not the case, and Conor McGregor is set to return at UFC 303. He will fight Michael Chandler in the main event of the card. Ahead of the fight, a lot has been said about how McGregor’s lack of action could prove to be helpful for Chandler.
However, Conor McGregor’s coach believes otherwise. Interestingly, he recently made a bold prediction for the fight and said:
“He’s looking super slick… I said this from the start, I see similarities to the Mendes fight. I’d be surprised if it can go two rounds. [McGregor] hits too hard, he’s too sharp. Is there going to be scrappiness and a few takedowns and stuff? Maybe But every round starts on the feet and his ability to get back there is underestimated.”

Conor McGregor will look to stay active following UFC 303
Conor McGregor has just competed in 3 fights since 2020. With his next fight confirmed for June, he hopes to stay active inside the octagon.
However, it is worth noting that following his fight against Chandler, McGregor will have just one fight left on his contract. As a result, it will be interesting to see if he signs a new contract with the UFC.
That said, all focus now is on his highly anticipated return. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.
