American professional mixed martial artist Christopher Alan Curtis was born on July 15, 1987, and is presently competing in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight division. He has been a professional since 2009 and has participated in PFL competitions.
Following Marvin Vettori’s injury, which prevented him from competing in the main event of UFC Fight Night 240 at the UFC Apex (ESPN+) against Brendan Allen (23-5 MMA, 11-2 UFC), the organization reached out to Curtis (31-10 MMA, 5-2 UFC) and extended an offer for a substitute.
After defeating Marc-Andre Barriault at UFC 297, Curtis expressed his wish to fight as the main attraction at the UFC Apex in an interview with MMA Junkie Radio, but he didn’t anticipate it happening so soon.
Despite being a seasoned athlete, Chris Curtis joined the UFC somewhat late in his career. “The Action Man” is only 36 years old, but he has already fought in 40 professional mixed martial arts matches. With 18 of his victories coming from finishes, his record is an amazing 30 wins and 10 losses. But the veteran’s record also lists ten losses.

The middleweight fighter rated 14th in the UFC didn’t have the best beginning to his professional MMA career. Back in 2009 at RFL: Maximum Impact, he suffered a defeat against Brandon Pinkston in the very first bout on his record. In May 2011 at Extreme Caged Combat, he suffered his lone submission loss—his second fight—at the hands of Tom Gallicchio. In June 2013, he was defeated by Forest Petz for the third time in his tenth professional bout.

Following his third defeat, Chris Curtis went on a three-bout winning streak; however, in his fourteenth fight, in September 2014, he lost his fourth fight to Belal Muhammad. On April 1, 2016, he lost against Nah-Shon Burrell for the fifth time, falling again. The 36-year-old would continue on an amazing 8-fight win streak that would last until May 2019 after this setback, kindling a fire inside of him.
When Curtis faced Jack Hermansson at UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Aspinall in July 2022, he lost for the first time in the promotion.
The thirty-six-year-old defeated Joaquin Buckley in his subsequent bout, but he was defeated by Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 287: Pereira vs. Adesanya 2 in April 2023.
An unintentional head clash caused Curtis’ final bout with Nassourdine Imavov to stop early. Stay tuned, to know what will Chris Curtis record in his upcoming match.
