What should’ve been an historic night for the UFC as Conor McGregor made his much anticipated return turned into a black eye for the sport after Khabib suddenly flew into a rage when he tossed his mouthpiece and then scaled the UFC cage to attack someone in Conor McGregor’s entourage.
In the midst of that happening, members of Khabib’s crew jumped into the cage and attacked McGregor.
Months later, and now the punishments are being levied against the participating parties. On Tuesday, a five-member committee of the Nevada Athletic Commission voted in favor of a settlement agreement that will see Nurmagomedov receive a nine-month suspension and a $500,000 fine for his involvement.
Neither Nurmagomedov nor McGregor were present at Tuesday’s meeting.
