Mike Perry’s journey from UFC contender to bare-knuckle star has been anything but smooth. He left the UFC in 2021 after a rocky stint filled with both thrilling victories and disappointing losses. BKFC seemed to offer him a fresh start, and boy, did he make the most of it. Now, ‘Platinum’ has found himself in hot water once again as his latest battle is taking place outside the ring.
The former UFC fighter turned BKFC headliner was arrested last weekend in Lake County, Florida. Perry was charged with driving under the influence as his mugshot quickly made the rounds online. It’s not the first time ‘Platinum‘ has had a run-in with the law, but this one could have serious consequences.
The timing couldn’t be worse for Mike Perry. At 33, he is in the prime of his fighting career. He has become one of BKFC’s biggest draws, known for his wild antics and willingness to brawl. Fans love him for his no-holds-barred approach, both in and out of the ring.
But now, Perry’s legal troubles threaten to derail his momentum. The DUI charge is no joke, and neither is his refusal to sign the citation. Mike Perry’s mandatory court appearance is set for October 30th. He has posted bond and is presumably preparing for his day in court. Until then, he is keeping uncharacteristically quiet. No social media rants, no wild statements to the press.
Conor McGregor Goes Back On His Statement About Firing Mike Perry
Conor McGregor recently became part-owner of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. It was a move that turned heads and raised eyebrows. He swaggered in, ready to shake things up in the world of bare-knuckle boxing. One of his first big moves was announcing that he had fired Perry after his loss to Jake Paul.
It was completely unexpected as Mike Perry, after all, had been on a tear in BKFC. He had racked up an impressive undefeated streak and become one of the promotion’s biggest stars. But now, in true ‘Notorious’ fashion, McGregor is changing his tune.

“Mike is fired, but we’re in negotiation. [David] Mundell called him out. He’s been afraid of Mundell. We had to give him a little cherry-pick-made title in the ‘King of Violence’ or whatever you call it,” said Conor McGregor via The Schmo.
McGregor couldn’t resist taking a few jabs at Perry, of course. He accused him of being afraid of BKFC middleweight champ David Mundell, aka “Redneck.” It’s the kind of trash talk that makes fans wonder if McGregor’s trying to stir up a fight or just entertain himself.
