Belal Muhammad and Ilia Topuria have taken their fight game to the digital arena. These two UFC champions are trading verbal jabs like they’re in a title bout. Muhammad, the reigning welterweight champ, isn’t one to back down from a challenge. He’s been riding high since snagging the belt from Leon Edwards in July. But apparently, being on top of the mountain isn’t enough. He’s got to defend his throne not just in the Octagon but online, too.
Topuria, the featherweight champ with a perfect record, decided to poke the bear by calling Muhammad a “crotch sniffer.” ‘Bully B’ fired back with a picture of him that has fans in hysterics. This is what he captioned the picture, “Illia “diddy” topuria”
This social media scrap isn’t just about personal jibes, though. It’s got roots in some serious fight talk. Topuria had the audacity to predict Muhammad would lose his upcoming title defense against Shavkat Rakhmonov. He even called Muhammad a “fake champion.”
Muhammad, ever the wordsmith, fired back by comparing Topuria to Colby Covington. He called him the “Georgian version of Colby Covington.” In the world of MMA, that’s like being called the Wish version of a controversial figure!
What Sparked This Exchange Between Belal Muhammed And Ilia Topuria?
Muhammad and Topuria are both vocal champions. They don’t let their thoughts stay in their head and as such, some things are said that can’t be taken back. ‘Bully B’ recently defended Islam Makhachev after ‘El Matador’ made comments about fighting and beating him.
Ilia Topuria upped the ante. Not one to let sleeping dogs lie, he countered with a laundry list of Muhammad’s shortcomings. “NO FINISHES NO KNOCKOUTS NO KNOCKDOWNS NO GIRLFRIEND NO KIDS,” he tweeted. This was once shared on Shavkat Rakhmonov’s account in the past.

But Belal Muhammad wasn’t about to tap out of this Twitter tussle. He accused Topuria of plagiarism, claiming he was just copying memes. This back-and-forth has fans quite entertained. They are witnessing two champions from different weight classes arguing over who is the better one. However, they will never fight in the Octagon, you know, weight classes and all!
