In the UFC 299, he successfully defended the Bantamweight title for the first against Marlon Vera after putting up an absolute clinic throughout the five rounds. The next challenge for Sean O’Malley is a tricky one. Merab Dvalishvili is probably the best chain wrestler in the company. O’Malley made sure to send him a threat on his podcast recently.
Sean O’Malley recently claimed he wanted to switch to boxing after beating Merab Dvalishvili and taking on Ryan Garcia. But many will agree that overlooking Merab might not be the smartest thing in the world.
Sean O’Malley lashes out at Merab Dvalishvili
O’Malley has repeatedly emphasized that he wants to be an active champion in the company. Merab Dvalishvili has an impressive ten-fight win streak. Goes without saying that the Georgian deserves to fight for the title next. It turns out that Merab is hated by the champion as he reveals what he wants to do in the octagon with him. Sean O’Malley said,
Merab is fu**ing next. Your wish is granted. A lot of people said I’m ducking him, I’m just really am not ducking that little dude. I like the fight for me. There are multiple ways to win.
Sean clarified he is not ducking Merab Dvalishvili in the octagon. In fact, he wants to fight him as soon as possible. After making fun of Merab’s stature, O’Malley claimed he wanted to finish the guy. He claimed multiple ways of winning against Merab Dvalishvili in the octagon. Sean seems confident in his ability to take on Merab and beat him in a five-round fight.
The fight between the two Bantamweight stars will be interesting in the octagon. It will be intriguing to see how Sean deals with the wrestling of Merab. Will Sean be able to finish the same way he finished Aljamain Sterling, or will Merab ragdoll Sean O’Malley in the octagon throughout the course of five rounds?
