Every MMA fighter dreams of becoming a UFC champion. From the moment they step into the sport, they imagine Bruce Buffer’s iconic voice echoing, announcing, “And the new UFC champion is…” followed by their name. When fighters finally earn the golden belt, they don’t settle for ordinary celebrations. Some splurge on luxury cars, others break into traditional dances, and fighters like Ilia Topuria even rally their entire nation to join the celebration. Arman Tsarukyan seems to have a similar grand plan, vowing to walk across Russia if he defeats Islam Makhachev.
Arman Tsarukyan is currently getting ready for his high-stakes clash with Islam Makhachev at UFC 311, showing no fear of the champion’s dominance. He plans to give everything he has in the octagon and already envisions a bold celebration.
Tsarukyan vows to walk across Russia if he captures the lightweight title, uniting Armenians to mark the achievement in a grand way. In his words, “If I win the belt, I’ll walk across Russia. I’ll tell all Armenians to line up. I’ll walk from here to Khabarovsk.”
Tsarukyan promised that if he beats Makhachev and wins the belt at UFC 311, he'll walk with that belt across the whole of Russia on foot: "If I win the belt, I'll walk across Russia. If Tsarukyan wins the belt, he will become the first Armenian fighter to achieve this historic milestone. His victory could pave the way for other fighters like Armen Petrosyan and inspire many others to chase similar dreams.
Arman Tsarukyan Feels No Pressure Against Islam Makhachev
In an interview with ESPN, the Armenian fighter compared his approach to MMA with that of Team Khabib, highlighting a clear difference in mindset. While Khabib’s team views MMA as a way of life, dedicating themselves entirely to training and earning through the sport, Tsarukyan treats it as a passion rather than a pressure-filled pursuit. He believes the stakes are higher for Islam Makhachev, as a loss for him could mean losing everything, while Tsarukyan feels no such burden.
He said, “They think about MMA and their opportunity to earn money from MMA. And they just give it all themselves in training and MMA. They just think about it. But I’m different, I’m just doing this for fun… There is no pressure on me. If I lose nobody gonna tell me anything. If Islam loses, he will lose everything.”
