A storm is brewing in the high-octane UFC lightweight action. Arman Tsarukyan has set his sights on the division’s pinnacle. His target is none other than the reigning champion, Islam Makhachev.
Tsarukyan recently dropped a bombshell that has fight fans buzzing with excitement. He hinted at an impending title bout against Makhachev, potentially slated for December. This news has sent shockwaves through the MMA community.
“The fight had to happen in October, but it was re-scheduled. Now, we have talks about December,” said Tsarukyan via Ushatayka on YouTube.
But hold your horses, fight fans. This matchup isn’t set in stone just yet. Tsarukyan acknowledged that Makhachev’s return timeline could shake things up. This means if the champ can’t compete by spring, we might see an interim title fight.
His potential clash with Makhachev isn’t just another fight. It’s a story of redemption. Arman Tsarukyan lost to Makhachev in his UFC debut back in 2019. Since then, he’s been on a tear and has racked up wins like a kid collecting Pokemon cards.
Whatever happens, Tsarukyan has put the division on notice. He’s not just climbing the ladder; he’s looking to kick it over. So buckle up, fight fans. The lightweight rollercoaster is about to take another wild turn.

Arman Tsarukyan Will No Longer Make An Anti-Bullying Video
Arman Tsarukyan had announced plans for an anti-bullying PSA. However, in a twist that’s pure MMA, those plans have now been KO’d. This came after Islam Makhachev’s injury forced him to be out of competition for an extended period of time.
Tsarukyan recently revealed he’s scrapping the idea of the anti-bullying video. His reason was all about timing and priorities. As he is no longer fighting in October, the notion of making an anti-bullying video seemed useless.
“If my fight is scheduled for December, there’s no point,” said Tsarukyan via Ushatayka YT.
The anti-bullying video was a way for Arman Tsarukyan to reduce his fighting suspension from 9 months to 6 months, which he was given for attacking a fan in the stands. Now that Makhachev won’t be ready before his suspension ends, Tsarukyan can relax and let the suspension run out without making any videos.
