Michael Chandler’s hopes for a big fight against Conor McGregor fell through, prompting him to make his long-awaited return against Charles Oliveira. There are still chances for Chandler to face McGregor after this bout. However, ahead of the clash, No. 1-ranked lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan predicted an “easy money” win for Oliveira.
Tsarukyan, has been vocal about his criticism of Chandler’s all-action fighting style. As he prepares for a potential rematch with champion Islam Makhachev early next year, Tsarukyan made it clear that he doesn’t respect Chandler as a top fighter. In a recent interview with MMA Junkie, he predicted that Oliveira will easily defeat Chandler, stating,
“Michael Chandler is going to lose for sure. It’s the number one easy fight for Charles Oliveira. He’s either going to choke him out or knock him out. It’s easy money for Oliveira. I’m so happy for him.”
Tsarukyan recently secured a hard-fought victory over Oliveira at UFC 300, which solidified his status as the top contender in the division. Now, he is aiming for a title shot against Islam Makhachev. Furthermore, UFC lightweight star Alex Hernandez believes that Tsarukyan is the only fighter with a chance to defeat Makhachev in the lightweight division.

At UFC 302, Makhachev defended his lightweight title against Dustin Poirier, winning by submission. Afterward, he suffered several injuries, including a partial ligament tear in his hand. Despite this, Makhachev’s next fight is scheduled against Arman Tsarukyan.
Currently sidelined, he is expected to face Tsarukyan upon his return. In an interview with James Lynch, UFC lightweight star Hernandez shared his thoughts on the matchup and discussed whether Makhachev can be beaten at 155 lbs.

“That’s an awesome fight.” Hernandez said to Lynch. He also added “I mean thats like I think thats the most exiting fights to make. You can’t you know you can’t just openly say Islam can’t do it so. And you know Arman is his most competitive fight the dude’s a absolute monster.”
