Alex Pereira might seem like a stone-faced predator inside the octagon. However, outside of it, he loves to enjoy the flair of life to the fullest. And Poatan’s funny side was on full display today as he passed a hilarious comment while in attendance at the recently concluded UFC 311.
In a heavily hyped fight, Jiri Prochazka and Jamahal Hill faced off at the Intuit Dome. But as the duo were fighting, Pereira suddenly came up with a comment that cracked up the entire UFC community.
In the middle of what was an intense bout between the two former light heavyweight champions, Pereira said, “Hey kids, stop fighting! I’m gonna have to use my belt!”

Surely, this was a funny moment from the UFC light heavyweight champion. Meanwhile, Pereira has already been assigned his first assignment for the year. After fighting thrice in 2024, Poatan will face off against Magomed Ankalaev in UFC 313. And while the fight is on, Team Ankalaev has a stern warning for the champion.
Magomed Ankalaev Vows To KO Alex Pereira
Magomed Ankalaev has had his share of bad blood with Alex Pereira. Waiting for a long time to get his date with the UFC light heavyweight champion, Ankalaev seems to be itching to have a go. In a recent interaction with MMA Junkie, Ankalaev’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, detailed the fighter’s mindset about the highly awaited bout.
“Ankalaev, what he told me, he said, ‘I’m not wrestling with [Pereira]. I’m gonna show everybody. Izzy can’t even wash my boots in striking. I’m gonna knock Alex Pereira out. Get the respect I’ve deserved for a long time.’ It’s a long task to strike with [Pereira] and knock him out. But I believe Ankalaev can do it,” Abdelaziz said.
