Alex Pereira and Jamahal Hill have been exchanging words since UFC 300, with their rivalry growing even more intense after the event. Hill, who was knocked out by Pereira in the first round of their fight, has been vocal about wanting a rematch, confidently stating he’ll defeat ‘Poatan’ next time they meet. Recently, Hill critiqued Pereira’s performance at UFC 307, calling it unimpressive. In response, the Brazilian fighter addressed Hill’s remarks during a recent interview.
Pereira’s performance at UFC 307 was outstanding, as he secured a fourth-round TKO victory over Khalil Rountree. Meanwhile, Hill, who was in the crowd, was seen yawning and later expressed that he wasn’t impressed by Pereira’s showing. Recently, Pereira held back from saying more out of respect for Ariel Helwani during his appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show on YouTube. Speaking through his translator and coach, Plinio Cruz, due to his limited English skills, ‘Poatan’ responded to Hill’s comments, saying:
“I’m going to be really honest with you, Ariel. If that performance with Khalil was shit, where does Jamahal rank [my] performance against him then? So, if that fight was crap, I mean, how can he say that? But I’m going to be honest. I’m not going to further. Talk about Jamahal. I have a lot of respect for your show. But I’m on a different level.”
Fans witnessed a jaw-dropping performance at UFC 307, where Khalil Rountree ended up with several cuts on his face during the fight. Commentator Joe Rogan and referee Marc Goddard praised Pereira’s powerful punches, with Rogan noting that they were the loudest he’s heard in 20 years.

Pereira delivered one of the year’s most remarkable performances, finishing Khalil Rountree with a fourth-round knockout. But what truly caught attention was referee Marc Goddard’s reaction to Pereira’s punching power. After the fight, Goddard told Joe Rogan in the octagon that, in his two decades of refereeing, he had never heard punches as powerful as Pereira’s. “It’s ungodly,” Goddard remarked. Rogan later shared the moment, saying,
“I was in the octagon after the fight. And Marc Goddard came up to me, and he said. I’ve been doing this for 20 years and he goes the way he hits people, the sound is like nothing I’ve ever heard before, It’s ungodly”
