Alex Pereira will be locking horns against Magomed Ankalaev next on UFC 313. While that itself is a big fight, the focus has already shifted to what might be a potentially historical trilogy fight. After securing an emphatic third-round knockout victory, Jiri Prochazka seemed to be charged up.
Calling out Alex Pereira, Prochazka mentioned that he is ready to face the Brazilian for the third time. And surprisingly, Pereira immediately agreed to the proposal. As the camera panned to the light heavyweight champion, Poatan uttered, “Chama.”
Later on, he provided further details while speaking with Megan Olivi. “Right now I’m fighting Ankalaev. [If] everything goes good, we gonna give Jiri the opportunity.”

Surely, Jiri Prochazka will be the fittest contender to fight the champion. Despite getting dominated in their last face-off, the Czech Samurai looked incredibly sharp. Thus, it’s no wonder that Prochazka might pose a few problems for Pereira if the match happens. But as of now, Alex Pereira’s entire focus should be on Magomed Ankalaev. After a lot of deliberation, the heavily hyped bout has been confirmed. And Team Ankalaev foreshadowed this a long time back.
Magomed Ankalaev’s Manager Was Confident About The Alex Pereira Matchup
A lot of back-and-forth took place before the Alex Pereira vs. Magomed Ankalaev fight was confirmed. Initially, Anakalaev was pitted against Aleksandar Rakic. Next, it was Pereira himself who expressed his reluctance to face Ankalaev. However, despite the uncertainty, the Russian fighter’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, was pretty much sure about the bout taking place.
“But the only thing that’s going to matter – him and Ankalaev are going to be locked in a cage… Alex Pereira is fighting Magomed Ankalaev next. The UFC – everything can be maneuvered, get delayed. In the UFC, the best fight with the best. There’s not too much politics in the UFC,” said Abdelaziz to MMA Junkie.
