Charles Oliveira, the former undisputed lightweight champion, will make his Octagon comeback in April when he fights Arman Tsarukyan in an official title-eliminator match on April 13 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, as part of the huge UFC 300 bill.
At UFC 294 in October 2023, Oliveira was initially scheduled to face Islam Makhachev again in the main event. Due to an injury he sustained while training his eyebrow, “Do Bronx” was forced to miss the fight.
Charles Oliveira, the top-ranked lightweight contender right now, hasn’t competed in the Octagon since he co-starred at UFC 289 in Canada in June of last year when he defeated frequent opponent Beneil Dariush with a devastating first-round TKO to break his slump in “The Great White North.”
Regarding the Armenian contender Tsarukyan, the rising star took on Dariush in the main event of UFC Austin back in December, destroying the Kings MMA mainstay with a vicious first-round knockout victory.
Islam Makhachev, the lightweight champion in the UFC back in 2019, was the only other person to defeat Tsarukyan. A unanimous verdict declared Tsarukyan to have been soundly defeated, but one judge thought he had stolen a round.
Tsarukyan vs. Oliveira at UFC 300 is a top contender match, as White points out. Without a doubt, the victor will get a chance to face Makhachev and exact revenge for one of their most crushing defeats.
