The New York Yankees are far from over with their signings as they continue to eye free agents. The Yanks recently signed Tim Hill to a one-year $2.85 million deal. The Bronx Bombers have a formidable starting rotation and are now keen on adding more depth to their bullpen.
The latest rumors suggest the team is looking to secure a southpaw pitcher for their bullpen. The Yanks are targeting former Detroit Tigers pitcher Matt Moore. The franchise had a successful offseason despite losing out on Juan Soto.
Moore will be easy on the pockets and a great addition to the Yankees. There’s always not enough when it comes to adding more pitchers. According to Spotrac, Moore is projected to sign a deal worth $3.4 million.
The veteran pitcher is eagerly waiting for an offer to come his way. The Yanks will not lose much if they pursue Moore. The All-Star pitcher struggled with the Angels last season with a 5.03 ERA. Yet, his previous years and numbers were impressive. The Yanks can make use of a veteran pitcher in their bullpen. Moreover, a lefty will give them an added advantage.
Yankees Have An Elite 10-Man Bullpen For 2025
Apart from their dominant six pitchers, the Yanks have a solid 10-man bullpen. Moore will be the 11th pitcher if they sign a deal. At present, they have top closer Devin Williams, followed by their fan-favorite, Luke Weaver.

The Bronx Bombers have also brought back Jonathan Loaisiga. It’s going to be challenging for opponent hitters to make it past a strong bullpen. The Yankees played their cards well after missing out on Juan Soto. They bolstered their pitching lineup but still have a spot to fill.
Gleyber Torres’ departure has created a tough challenge. The franchise has yet to bring in a strong second baseman to replace Torres. With Anthony Volple at shortstop, Paul Goldschmidt at first base, and Jazz Chisholm Jr. at third, they easily have one of the best defensive units.
However, the Yankees must bring in a valuable player at second base. Another option is to move Chisholm to second and bring in Alex Bregman. It’s a long shot, but not impossible. The Boston Red Sox are in hot pursuit of Bregman.
