The New York Yankees were undeniably one of the most active teams this offseason. The Yanks have acquired several free-agent candidates and top players to help the team for another World Series run. Many believe that all this was possible only because Juan Soto chose to sign with the New York Mets.
Surprisingly, a part of that story is true. The franchise was ready to offer Soto $760 million for 16 years. Now that he’s a Met, they have put that money to good use. The Yanks have bolstered their offense and brought in some top pitchers for their rotation.
There are endless possibilities when it comes to adding players. One interesting mock trade could bring in a $13.7 million star to the Bronx. The Yanks are not looking at other free agents for now. Hence, a trade deal with the San Diego Padres might be a great fit.
Imagine if the Yanks had brought home Luis Arraez. Would he be a good fit? The Padres were keen on trading Arraez if they got the right deal. A proposed mock trade cropped up on X where the Yankees would trade for Arraez by sending Will Warren and Everson Pereira.
Are you making this trade if you’re the Yankees? 🧐

Yankees Could Make The Best Of This Mock Trade
The Padres are looking to drop their payroll, but they also need to have some players on the team. San Francisco can make good use of both stars, especially Pereira. The Padres need some offensive power, and Pereira has been a top-five prospect for the Bronx Bombers.
Warren has been disappointed in pinstripes, and Pereira’s injury kept him out. The Yanks will make the best out of Arraez. Likewise, the Padres would put the two players to good use by saving them money.

A trade like this is possible for both teams if they agree to the terms. The Yankees could also offer a little money to bring in Arraez. However, these are just mock trades, and neither team has discussed the terms of such a deal.
The MLB trade rumors continue at full swing as several teams have a keen eye on star sluggers. Alex Bregman and Pete Alonso are expected to be traded anytime soon.
