Gary Sanchez was not at George M. Steinbrenner field in Tampa on Tuesday because of a fever. That was a cause for concern.
The Yankees catcher was said to be evaluated by Yankees team physician Norman Castellano. His results came back and he tested positive for having the flu virus.
He was not tested for Coronavirus.
Aside from the flu, Sanchez has been dealing with back issues.
Because of coronavirus, today was the first day MLB implemented media restrictions on clubhouse access.
