DJ LeMahieu’s 2024 season with the New York Yankees was limited and not up to the mark. LeMahieu struggled with injuries, but his overall performance dipped after his return. The slugger smashed two home runs and contributed 26 RBIs. He recorded a batting clip of .204 with a .269 OBP.
The Yanks were forced to make changes to the team as LeMahieu’s struggle continued. The All-Star has been a veteran slugger for the team and played a crucial role over the years. Yet, many believe that injuries have led to a dip in his performance.
Eric Hubbs of Barstool Sports said the Yankees were about to DFA DJ Lemahieu. However, Aaron Judge and other players prevented the move. Yankees fans were unhappy to learn about this, and they took to social media to react to the same.

If true, Judge and other players need to stay in their lane. The team can't be making personnel decisions based on sentimentality.

DJ LeMahieu’s Future With The Yankees Remains Questionable
LeMahieu’s future with the Bronx Bombers remains questionable, especially after his slumping season. The Yanks have spots to fill after parting ways with Gleyber Torres. Yet, they might consider other options to fill that spot.
The team might shift things around by bringing in Jazz Chisholm Jr. to second base. On the other hand, they could bring in Oswaldo Cabrera to take Chisholm’s spot at third base. The Yanks have also played it low with Anthony Rizzo.
As for DJ LeMahieu, getting back to his old position full-time is rather doubtful. The Yanks are also predicted to pursue Alex Bregman. MLB insider Jeff Passan says the Bronx Bombers should take advantage of Bregman and sign him.
