The New York Yankees will do anything to retain All-Star slugger Juan Soto. The Yanks are competing with the New York Mets since both teams are fighting to secure a deal with the free agent. The Mets will not want to miss out on an opportunity with Soto.
However, it depends on the slugger and his agent, Scott Boras. Mets owner Steve Cohen has already taken a step ahead after he scheduled a visit with Soto in person. After Cohen’s plan to visit Soto broke, Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner also decided to visit the slugger.
Yankees fans are hyped about Stienbrenner’s plan to visit Soto. Several fans took to social media to express their excitement.
Here’s a look at some of the fan reactions.
“George’s spirit is infiltrating his son’s body let’s go,” one fan wrote.

“If you need to increase the price of the chicken bucket to sign him then do it Hal,” replied one fan.
Tampa Bay Rays Join In The Competition With The Yankees And Other Teams
Juan Soto’s free agency rumors keep growing as new teams emerge as favorites. The Tampa Bay Rays have recently been on the list of other teams competing with the Yankees. The Rays are also expected to reach out to Soto but are not a top contender.
The Rays will not stand a chance with the Mets, Dodgers, and Yanks in line. However, they might try their best to strike a deal. Tampa Bay spent $88 million last year, and Soto seems to be out of reach unless they try to pursue the slugger for a short-term, one-year deal.
Either way, the Rays will have trouble paying Soto the money he needs. They lost several key players last season and will try to get a superstar on board. The Yankees have an advantage since Soto seems comfortable in the Brox. All they need to do is offer him something more than the Mets.
