This was an incredibly tasteless gesture and somebody might get fired because of it.
During a game against the Minnesota Twins on Saturday, a Chicago White Sox intern decided it would be a grand idea to put a list of famous Chicago people on the big screen for fans to see.
One photo caught the attention of everybody when Emmett Till was put on the board.
For those who are unaware, Till was lynched in 1955 for allegedly whistling at a white woman outside of a grocery store in Mississippi. It took over 50 years for that woman, who is still alive today, to reveal the whistling never happened, but it did not stop her husband’s half-brother from brutally beating him, shooting him in the head and leaving his body in a nearby river.
His mutilated body has been seen by millions as he laid in his casket.
