Just when you think things cannot get worse for Wander Franco, more information starts to come out on his alleged behavior involving a minor.
Tampa Bay shortstop Wander Franco will miss the duration of the Rays’ West Coast road trip after being placed on the restricted list as Major League Baseball investigates claims that he had an inappropriate relationship with a 14-year-old.
Franco will be on the restricted list at least through the club’s six-game road trip that started Monday night.
Tuesday, the Associated Press reported that Dominican Republic authorities are investigating Franco for an alleged relationship with a minor, confirmed by the office of the attorney general.
Now, we are getting a first-hand account of Wander at least being in the same room with Franco as photos surfaced of him kissing the alleged young teenager.

This is really bad for Franco.
The team’s road trip began Monday night in San Francisco and concludes on Aug. 20. Franco did not travel with the team on Sunday night as the Rays flew to California. He was out of the lineup on Sunday against Cleveland, but Rays manager Kevin Cash said that was because of a scheduled day off. That did not really make sense as the game was a promotion for him and kids under 14 to receive gifts.
The 22-year-old signed an 11-year extension with the Rays in November 2021. He was selected to his first All-Star Game this season and is hitting .281/.344/.475 in 112 games.
His career could be turned upside down and he could also be headed to jail over these accusations.
