Shohei Ohtani is being lauded by fans on social media for his classy actions during the Dodgers’ 4-2 win over the Yankees in Game 2 of this month’s World Series.
Ohtani, who sustained an injury in the Saturday night fixture, was shown spitting into a cup instead of on the field while enjoying a snack in the dugout.
“Ohtani is so neat he doesn’t even spill his seeds on the ground,” an X user captioned a video of the Dodgers star.
“Homie move for sure,” a fan claimed.
“It’s called respect. What a lot of people in this country don’t have,” another wrote.
“He’s Japanese! Japan is a very clean place. There is literally no trash cans in the streets and most people carry their trash until they get to throw it away safely. I had to walk around with an empty coffee cup in my hand for almost an hour😂,” someone else relayed.

“Japanese culture. My friend who is Japanese said they are raised with the mindset “we have a small island, we need to keep it clean.” Its beautiful,” another comment read.
Shohei Ohtani’s Status In Doubt For The Dodgers Heading Into Game 3
While L.A. enjoyed a second win in as many games, it came at a cost as Ohtani suffered a partial dislocation of his left shoulder via an unfortunate slide while attempting a steal at second base.
His status for Game 3 is uncertain, with the team to administer further tests to determine the severity of the injury.
There is some optimism within the Dodgers’ camp as the outfit has revealed there’s been no lapse in strength and range of motion.
