An unfortunate young fan was the victim of a home run ball from Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani on Tuesday night.
Ohtani is always good for a home run, which means fans have to be wary whenever he’s on the plate. But a kid appearing to be a toddler will not appreciate all the adults around him as they all missed the ball after the Japanese slugger drilled his 27th home run of the campaign while playing the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Dodgers star launched one into the outfield during the seventh inning of the 6-5 win. And the video below shows the poor kid getting hit in the head, with none of the grown-ups around him managing to catch or at least block it.
Check it out right below:
Hopefully, the kid is okay, but given the velocity at which the ball came down, it wouldn’t surprise us if he was badly hurt. It would be nice to get an update on him.
“Embarrassing for all those who missed,” one fan wrote.

“Damn all those dudes and not one could catch it??” another asked.
A third said, “If I were Ohtani, I would buy that kid everything he wanted for one day.”
Shohei Ohtani Had Some Bad News For Fans On Tuesday
Meanwhile, Shohei Ohtani has chosen not to take part in the Home Run Derby at the All-Star activities in Arlington, Texas, on July 15.
Ohtani has only graced fans with his presence at the event on one occasion, in 2021, when it was in Denver, Colorado.
“I’m in the middle of my rehab progression, so it’s not going to look like I’ll be participating,” the Japanese superstar told the media on Tuesday night.
Two disappointments in one night…
