Los Angeles Dodgers designated hitter Shohei Ohtani partially dislocated his left shoulder during the seventh inning of Saturday’s Game 2 of the World Series against the New York Yankees when he tried to steal second base.
Ohtani grabbed his left forearm after shortstop Anthony Volpe touched him for the final out of the inning on a front-foot slide.
A slow-motion replay of his injury showed exactly how he suffered that unfortunate injury.
The Japanese superstar was a non-factor, as he was 0 for 3 with a walk in the game. He is 1 for 8 in the first two games of the Fall Classic and is batting .260 with three home runs and 10 RBIs in his first postseason in the majors.
With Shohei Ohtani struggling already, a shoulder injury is unlikely to get him going.
The Dodgers held on for a 4-2 victory and now lead the Series 2-0. The games will now shift to Yankee Stadium for the next three contests.

What is Shohei Ohtani’s Status For Game 3 of The World Series?
Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani partially dislocated his left shoulder during the seventh inning of Game 2 of the World Series, and the world wants to know whether he will be back.
Ohtani’s status for Monday’s Game 3 in New York is unclear, but Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts said he “had a little subluxation in his left shoulder.”
He added that he would have imaging tests Saturday night or Sunday.
“We’ll know more in the next couple of days,” Roberts said. “The strength was great. The range of motion good, so we’re encouraged. But obviously I can’t speculate because don’t get the scans yet. So once we have the scans, we’ll know more.”
Game 3 is Monday night at Yankee Stadium.
With a 2-0 lead, we will have to see if Shohei Ohtani is held out for one game.
