Mookie Betts had several good memories of the World Series against the Yankees, but one particular moment turned out to be a nightmare. Betts was on his way to win his third World Series title, and Yankees fans made that a hard run.
During the first inning of Game 4, Betts jumped to catch a fly ball that Gleyber Torres smashed at Yankee Stadium. While he seemed to have control over the ball, two Yankees fans interfered and snatched it from the Dodgers star. The umpires called it out as fan interference, but the incident still lingers in Betts’s mind.
Recently, Mookie Betts appeared on Kevin Hart and Kenan Thompson’s Peacock “Back That Year Up” special. Hart told Betts to look into the camera and say whatever he felt like. The seven-time All-Star never hesitated to lash out at the Yankees fans for their behavior.
“I would really say ‘F*** you guys,'” Betts replied when asked what he would say to those fans now. “I get them trying to get the ball. Cool. But, like, you tried to grab my s***. “I was in the moment,” he added. “So I thought about throwing a ball at ’em. And then I realized, ‘Mook, you ain’t gonna do s***. Go back to right field,” Betts said.
Mookie Betts has finally responded to the Yankees fans that tried to violate him in the World Series:
