Should it be significant, Acuña’s injury is the team’s second season-ending setback as they aim to contend for their second World Series crown in four years. Only two games were tossed by All-Star starter Spencer Strider this season before he had season-ending internal bracing surgery to repair the ulnar collateral ligament in his throwing elbow.

The team has maanged to stay afloat after losing their top pither for the season, but a significant injury to Acuna could have the team falling in the standings as they look to keep pace with the Philadelphia Phillies, who are one of three teams who do not have 20 losses on the year as of yet.
