Olivia Dunne gave her boyfriend Paul Skenes, a pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates, a poignant Instagram tribute on Wednesday in honor of his 22nd birthday. The Detroit Tigers’ announcing staff went a bit too far in discussing Olivia Dunne prior to her boyfriend Paul Skenes’ start on Wednesday.
Since his arrival in the Major Leagues, Paul Skenes and Olivia Dunne have become MLB’s version of Kelce-Swift.
Before Game 1 of a doubleheader against the Pirates, Bally Sports Detroit played a graphic comparing the social media followings of what they called “Gen Z’s New Power Couple.” Things got awkward when commentator Johnny Kane glanced down at his phone in the middle of the piece.
“What’s going on there, man? Are you looking up Livvy Dunne?” Bally’s in-game reporter Trevor Thompson asked.
“She just gained one more follower,” Carlos Pena said while laughing.
“… You’re gonna follow her on all the socials, Johnny?” Thompson continued. “She’s a pretty good gymnast, a national champion gymnast at LSU.”

The awkwardness towards Olivia Dunne continued.
“Are you interviewing Livvy in the stands today?” Kane asked Thompson.
“If I see her, I’m going to try to track her down. See if she’ll come on to Bally Sports with us. Why not, right?” Thompson said with a smile.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Detroit Tigers took on rookie sensation Paul Skenes. Starting Game 2 of a doubleheader in the Motor City, the rookie pitcher demonstrated his quick progress with a 10-2 win and nine strikeouts, MLB.com.

On his birthday, Skenes, who is 22 years old, had pitched 22 innings and won his second MLB game in his fourth start. His career high of eleven strikeouts against the Cubs was just two strikeouts away. Matt Vierling hit a home run off a slider in the sixth inning, but otherwise, he just gave up three hits and two runs in this game.
Young Pittsburgh Pirates Fan Says Olivia Dunne Is His ‘Favorite Thing’ About Paul Skenes
Baseball’s top pitching prospect, Paul Skenes, is living up to the billing as last year’s No. 1 overall pick.
The Pirates audience was rowdy during his Major League Baseball debut, and this time around, fans flocked to the stands wearing fake mustaches in an attempt to imitate the pitcher.
A young fan, his mustache draped, was being interviewed by the broadcast team in the stands when he was asked what his “favorite thing” about the big righty is.
He mentioned Olivia Dunne.
“His mustache and Livvy Dunne!”
