David Nakama Oancea, also known as Vegas Dave, who famously boasted of winning record-setting bets, including a futures wager on the Kansas City Royals to win the World Series in 2015 for $2.5 million, has apparently hit it big yet again.
Vegas Dave has sold his 2009 Bowman Chrome Draft Red Refractor Mike Trout card this past Wednesday for an insane amount that set a new modern baseball card record with a price of $750,000 which ended up $900,000 after the buyers premium, according to Beckett.com.
“The highest-priced item in the auction, conducted by Goldin Auctions, was a Mike Trout signed rookie chrome refractor. The amount paid for the card ($900,000) obliterated the record for the highest-priced modern-day baseball card and tied the record for the most expensive modern-day card ever — the LeBron James/Michael Jordan logoman card, sold in February 2020.”

“My Mike Trout rookie card sells for a record breaking $900,000!! I paid $180,000 for this card a little over a year ago. Everyone said I was crazy for spending this kind of money on a piece of cardboard. You cannot even buy a piece of real estate and flip it for a $720,000 profit in one year. The $400,000 1/1 superfractor Mike Trout rookie I bought for $400,000 last year is now worth around 3 million dollars. No stocks, bonds, mutual funds, 401ks, gold, silver, and real estate pays these returns in 365 days. I remember all the haters laughing at me when I dropped 400k on a piece of cardboard instead of buying a house. I guess he who laughs first gets laughed at last”
“How the fuck do I do it? Winner receives a cash prize!! How do I make $720,000 in one year during a fucking pandemic with no sports being played??!! Someone please tell me how the fuck do I do it”
Making insane amount of money while having eye candy of Holly Sonders as a fiance has Dave living a wonderful life.
