Atlanta Braves pitcher Spencer Strider has become a nuisance around the MLB as it’s almost impossible to get a bat to connect to his pitches.
Strider leads the league in strikeouts and it was already easy to see why. But, thanks to a clip from the umpire’s camera during Atlanta’s 11-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday, you could acquire an even better understanding.
The video below shows Edmundo Sosa trying his best, but failing to make contact with a 97 MPH fastball from the 2021 pro debutant. The ball traveled so fast, you probably won’t do much better than Sosa if you blink.

Spencer Strider Moving At A Historic Pace
Strider has been moving at quite the historic pace this season when it comes to strikeouts. His third of Sunday’s fourth inning marked his 100th of the season. He got to the number in just 61 innings, which means he’s the fastest to 100 since 1983.
The previous fastest number was held by Texas Rangers star Jacob DeGrom, who got to a century of strikeouts in 61.2 innings in 2021.

With pitches like those, Strider could go on to break a few records by the time the season is over. The dude’s a menace.
