Trevor Bauer may be on a new team, but he definitely isn’t going to stop his old antics.
The new Los Angeles Dodgers showed just how impressive he could be during his first inning of work with Saturday’s spring training game against the San Diego Padres.
Bauer pitched the entire inning with one eye closed.
Here’s his reason for doing so:
“I figured if they can’t score off me with one eye open, it’s going to be difficult to score off me with two eyes open,” Bauer said to the media following the game. “Just having a little bit of fun.”

Bauer finished the outing with three scoreless innings and three strikeouts. For the spring, Bauer has thrown five scoreless innings with five strikeouts.
“I’ve been working on my mechanics,” he said when asked how this start felt compared to his last. “I felt much better. My velocity went up dramatically.”
