Remember Trevor Bauer? Once a dominant MLB pitcher and former Cy Young winner, he was suspended for two seasons during his prime after being accused of sexual assault by a woman in San Diego.
Bauer refused to pay the woman a single dime in settlement talks, and he repeatedly denied the allegations, claiming they were nothing more than a money grab. Unfortunately, he was unable to tell his entire side of the story for a while, as the case was being dealt with in the courts. But with both sides finally reaching a settlement to resolve all claims and counterclaims between them, Bauer is now able to speak.
And he wasted little time setting the record straight.
In the following three minute, thirty-five second video, Bauer releases a ton of evidence that seems to prove he was nothing more than the victim of an attempted money grab. Bauer reveals his accuser’s messages to her friends including one that said, “Next victim. Star pitcher for the Dodgers.”
Another message she sent to a different friend before visiting Bauer’s house asked, “What should I steal?” And perhaps the most damning evidence of all is a selfie video of the woman, Lindsey Hill, in Bauer’s bed the night after she was reportedly assaulted. In the video, Lindsey can be seen smiling, with no visible bruises or scars on her.
Those are just a few ugly pieces to this story. Here’s Bauer’s entire explanation of how it all went down:

If all of this is true, the MLB and many others owe Bauer an apology. It’s scary to think that one desperate woman can ruin the life of a successful millionaire athlete so easily — when there was so much proof available to debunk her story.
It’ll be interesting to see whether any MLB teams decide to give Bauer a second chance after all of this.
