Also suspended for one game were managers Pedro Grifol and Terry Francona, as well as Guardians third base coach Mike Sarbaugh.
Anderson and Ramirez are appealing their suspensions, so their discipline will be held until the process completes.
The two teams clashed when Ramirez and Anderson squared off near second base after Ramirez slid in safely on a double in the bottom of the sixth inning. Ramirez became enraged by what Anderson did so he let him know about it.
Ramirez got up and pointed at Anderson, who then dropped his glove, squared up, and threw punches. Ramirez connected with Anderson and knocked him down.
The incident and the suspension just add to a dreadful season overall for Anderson as the former All-Star is hitting just .244 this year with a .285 on-base percentage. He only has one home run and 19 RBI this year.
