Kike Hernandez and the Los Angeles Dodgers are yet to come to terms with a contract. The Dodgers made it clear that they are ready to pursue the World Series hero. Now that they have done their bidding, the Boys in Blue are expected to bring back the slugger for a short-term deal.
It’s difficult for the Dodgers to give Hernandez a long-term contract. The franchise might consider a one- or two-year contract. The Dodgers made several upgrades this offseason, including bringing back their All-Star slugger, Teoscar Hernandez.
Hernandez played an important role in winning the World Series for the team, and he wants the Dodgers to bring back Kike Hernandez. Dodgers GM Brandon Gomes stated that the team is open to bringing him back in 2025.
“Everybody is waiting for that news to pop out. I want Kiké to be back, but at the end of the day it’s business. They’re going to do whatever is best for the team. Hopefully they can sign Kike,” Teo said.

Kike has a great chemistry with the team, and the Dodgers fans would love to have him back. Most importantly, he has substantial postseason numbers.

Several teams have shown interest in signing Hernandez, but none have succeeded. It’s hard for teams to give Hernandez a long-term deal. MLB insider David Schoenfield believes that Hernandez’s time with the Dodgers has come to an end.

“Hernandez had some nice moments for the Dodgers in the postseason, but his OPS+ over the past three seasons is just 78, and their signing of Hyeseong Kim pushes him out of L.A,” Schoenfield wrote via SI.com.
It’s hard to tell if the Dodgers are ready to give Hernandez a contract. The team can do fine without Kike. On the other hand, the utility player has gathered interest from several teams, including the New York Yankees.
Kike Hernandez wants to return to the Dodgers lineup. The slugger has been his best in Dodger Blue. The Dodgers must be quick to bring back their utility player before it’s too late. Apart from Kike, Harrison Bader’s rumors seem to be getting hot.
