It’s unlikely that the Los Angeles Dodgers have not taken a step with free agent Teoscar Hernandez. Dave Roberts stated that the Dodgers have made progress, but their chances of signing Hernandez seem to be in a dilemma.
Hernandez had one the best seasons with the Dodgers as he carried them to win the World Series. Despite his top performance, the Boys in Blue chose to add Blake Snell and extend Tommy Edman. Now, their focus has shifted to three other prospects as possible replacements for Hernandez.
The Dodgers are showing interest in infielder Ha-Seong Kim, center fielder Luis Robert Jr., and right fielder Seiya Suzuki. Hernandez is interested in signing with the team, but he’s not keen on having any deferred money. The Dodgers have plenty of deferred money on several stars.
According to MLB insider Ken Rosenthal, the Dodgers are looking at pursuing other players instead of Hernandez.
The Dodgers are reportedly exploring other options both in free agency and via trade since they are at an "impasse" with Teoscar Hernandez😳

“The potential options, according to sources briefed on the team’s discussions, include infielder Ha-Seong Kim in free agency and Chicago Cubs right fielder Seiya Suzuki, Chicago White Sox center fielder Luis Robert Jr. and others in trade. How serious the Dodgers are about those pursuits and how realistic some of them might be remains to be seen,” Rosenthal wrote via the Dodgers Nation.

However, the Dodgers seem to be playing it calmly. There has been no other information besides Dave Roberts saying that he wants Hernandez back. The Dodgers might pursue the three players with deferred contracts.
Teoscar Hernandez will also be open to joining other teams that give him a better offer. The 32-year-old is looking to secure a contract before entering the tail end of his career. The Dodgers are expected to make another trade or two before spring training. On the other hand, the Yankees are also doubtful of signing Anthony Rizzo.
