The son of a former Red Sox star and his 8-year-old son were found dead and the details surrounding it are quite disturbing.
Police believe George Scott III killed his young son and then himself. The 54-year-old and his son, Dante Hazard were discovered by police who were performing a wellness check inside their home.
The well-being check was requested by a relative of Scott’s, who had not been able to get in touch, according to the statement.
“Police say Scott likely killed his son with a sharp object before killing himself, according to the Boston Globe,” Fox News reported.
The District Attorney’s office said it appears the father, “killed the boy with a sharp object before taking his own life.”
As part of this missing person investigation, detectives executed a court-issued search warrant at the home on Phillips Road, according to the statement.
