Baseball fans are teeing off on the New York Yankees for trying to rip off its fans with a peculiar offer regarding team jerseys.
The New York Yankees hosted the Toronto Blue Jays in their 2024 home opener at Yankee Stadium on Friday afternoon, following a seven-game road trip to begin the season. The Blue Jays spoiled the party by shutting out the Pinstripes 3-0.

Well, money always talks in the world of sport. The Pinstripes have millions of fans across the world, so they’re bound to find a handful of customers who will pay up the $15 to have the sponsor patch.
Despite the loss on Friday, the Yankees remain first in the AL East with a 6-2 record. After wrapping up their weekend series with the Blue Jays, the Yankees will welcome the Miami Marlins for a three-game set that begins on Monday.
Plenty At Stake For The New York Yankees In 2024
There’s a lot on the line for the New York Yankees this season as they try to end a 15-year World Series drought this season.
The Yankees’ prized offseason trade pickup, Juan Soto, is a free agent at the end of a season. Soto rejected a $440 million extension from the Washington Nationals before his 2022 trade to the San Diego Padres, The Athletic reported at the time.
Soto will have plenty of interest on the open market if he goes there, and it might take a deep postseason run for the Yankees to convince him to stick around long-term. If they fail to do that, several jobs could be lost within the organization.
