The baseball world is still reeling from the news of two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani signing a ten-year, $700MM deal with the Dodgers.
Not many saw this coming at all.
Not only is it the largest contract in baseball history, it is the most lucrative deal for any professional athlete. Ohtani’s former teammate Mike Trout held the previous total record at $426.5 million.
The Dodgers new star pitcher and hitter is notoriously private about his love life, and although he is believed to be a single man, he has been rumored to be dating Kamalani Dung.

Kamalani Dung became the talk of the town after she was spotted with Los Angeles Angels two-way phenom Shohei Ohtani in July 2018.
She is a Hawaii-based right-handed softball pitcher. She graduated from Kamehameha Kapalama High School, where she served as team captain and ace pitcher while winning three Division I conference titles.
Dung enrolled at Fresno State before transferring to UC Berkeley in 2017 to pursue a sociology major.
The value Ohtani will bring to his new organization goes beyond his performance on the field, and the Dodgers could be in for a windfall if they know how to market their brand-new international superstar.
The 29-year-old Ohtani is expected to spend the first season of his tenure as a Dodger as a full-time designated hitter, after undergoing an unspecified elbow procedure to repair a torn UCL, before attempting a return to the mound in 2025.
