Yesterday, it was announced that two-time AL MVP Shohei Ohtani will be signing a $700-million contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers. It’s by far the largest contract ever signed in Major League Baseball history.
You would think a signing for that type of money would be accompanied by some impressive, crisp, high-resolution announcement from Ohtani and the Dodgers…
So when Ohtani dropped his announcement with an accompanying low-res photo of the Dodgers’ logo, social media had all sorts of things to say about it.
Some decided to troll Ohtani while others thought it was a hilarious way to announce his lucrative deal.

Ohtani had everyone guessing where he would land over the past few days, with plenty of speculation attaching him to the Toronto Blue Jays as late as Friday evening. However, it appears as though it was all a ploy from his team in order to get the best possible deal from the Dodgers.
And, needless to say, it worked to perfection.
