The late San Diego Padres owner Peter Seidler’s wife, Sheel Seidler, recently initiated a legal battle with her husband’s brothers. Sheel filed a lawsuit against Robert Seidler and Matthew Seidler for control over the team.
Things took a wild turn after details of Sheel’s complaint emerged online. Sheel accused her brother’s-by-law of “fiduciary breaches of trust, fraud, conversion, and egregious acts of self-dealing,” The lawsuit was filed in probate court in Texas.
According to Sheel, she and her children have been excluded from her husband’s estate and the Seidler Trusts since his death in 2023. The lawsuit claims that Robert and Mathew are attempting to sell or take control without her consent.
The lawsuit further claims they are keen on their personal interests rather than the Padres team or the family. Furthermore, it is reported that Robert’s wife sent Sheel racist and hateful comments.
“Racist, profane and hateful communications directed at Sheel—a woman of Indian descent—in communications,” was also a part of the lawsuit as per Clutch Points.

Late Padres Owner’s Wife Seeks Damages From Her Husband’s Brothers
Sheel is also seeking damages from her late husband’s brothers. Reports state that she’s seeking “Attorney’s fees, pre and post-judgment interest. Additionally, she wants exemplary damages and is asking that defendants be denied compensation from the Seidler Trusts.

After details of the lawsuit emerged online, she wrote a letter and posted it on her X account. She wanted Padres fans to hear it directly from her.
“I filed a complaint against Matthew Seidler and Robert Seidler to protect my family and to continue to carry Peter’s legacy. I do not wish to litigate this matter in public. But rest assured I will do what it takes to protect my children, Peter’s legacy, and this remarkable ball club,” Sheel wrote.
