Las Vegas has been mentioned in the past few years as a possibility for Major League Baseball expansion, with MLB commissioner Rob Manfred stating on The Dan Patrick Show in 2018, “I think Vegas is a viable expansion alternative. I think it’s big enough.”
Vegas has been on the radar ever since the city got the Golden Knights in 2016 and showed just how much the fan base there embraced the team. They also can see how the city is waiting for the Raiders to begin playing there starting in 2020 when they officially move out of Oakland, California.
Fast forward to 2019 and Las Vegas has been brought up again for a possible expansion team that could happen as soon as after the 2019 World Series, via Vital Vegas.
Vital Vegas went on to state that building permits have been reactivated for land on Las Vegas Blvd and a damning rumor about a stadium being constructed near South Point.
Remember, this is all a rumor and has not been officially confirmed anywhere else….as of yet.

With the way the fan bases for the Miami Marlins and Tampa Bay Rays treat their local teams by not even showing up for games, those are two possible franchises to think about moving in the future.
Even the Oakland Athletics are an option.
”Oakland and Tampa (stadium issues) have to get done before anything else happens,” Manfred said. “I would like to get to 32 (teams).”
Manfred expressed his willingness to get get to 32 teams that would drastically help MLB move to either four divisions of eight teams or eight divisions of four teams.
