Earlier this week, there was talk of the Houston Astros possibly trading away all-star SS Carlos Correa, according to Ken Rosenthal.
Correa is projected to make around $7.4 million in 2020 and the Astros could also package all of Josh Reddick’s contract as part of any trade they want shall they seek it out.
Then came a heavy rumor from senior contributor, MLB draft lead and prospect scout Alex Jensen who stated that the Cincinnati Reds had entered into the conversation, which included sending Luis Castillo to Houston for Correa and Reddick.
Take this information with a grain of salt and not as truth. The likelihood of this happening are extremely slim, but we’ve seen crazier things happen in sports.
Trading the 25-year-old Correa could help Houston add pitching, with the team focused on extending a long-term contract to outfielder George Springer. The Astros already knew they had no chance of bringing Gerrit Cole back to the team, so parting ways with some top talent could help fill the void he left when he took his talents to the New York Yankees.
