The Atlanta Braves’ Ronald Acuna Jr. has been on a tear lately, with three straight games with home runs, but his most recent may be the most impressive.
At Saturday’s game against the LA Dodgers, Acuna hit a 454 ft home run, which is amazing by itself, but the ball left the bat traveling at 121.2 mph. Acuna’s shot to centerfield is not only one of the most impressive he’s ever hit, but the most powerful shot in the MLB this season.
The shot amazed even him.
Acuna is in the midst of a great year, with 32 home runs and 85 RBIs. He’s leading the Braves in Hits, Batting average, and On Base Percentage as the team currently sits on a 90-45 record, which is the best in all of the MLB.
Acuna looks to keep this hot streak as they face off against the Dodgers again tonight, who are one of their top post season threats. The MLB Playoff are set to begin October 3rd, and this is an opportunity for both teams to scout each other out.
If Acuna’s 121.1 mph hit is any indication, the Dodgers are in trouble.
