On Saturday, Legendary Atlanta Braves slugger Rico Carty died at 85. Carty was one of the most notable and unforgettable Dominican baseball stars, having an outstanding MLB career that spanned from 1963 to 79.
After his incredible career, Carty was inducted into the Atlanta Braves Hall Of Fame in 2023. Carty’s MLB debut was with the Milwaukee Brewers in 1963. He was noted for his performance with the Brewers and the Braves. In 1970, Carty became an All-Star and the NL batting champion.

During his excellent career, Rico Carty smashed 204 home runs with a batting clip .299. He recorded 890 RBIs. The talented slugger was also remembered for performing with the Texas Rangers, Toronto Blue Jays, Chicago Cubs, Cleveland Indians, and Oakland Athletics.
Carty played left field for most of his career but was moved to a designated hitter role towards the end. Reports state that he was moved to Atlanta due to his struggle with intestinal ailments.

Rico Carty has been an inspiration for several MLB players. During his time, he grew to become one of the most famous Dominican players. His interest in the game started at an early age. In 1959, Carty played for the Dominican National team.
Carty entered the MLB after signing with the Brewers at the age of 20. During his strong career, he struggled with tuberculosis and was forced to miss the entire 1968 season. 1977 was a tough season for Carty since his batting average had declined to .280.

Despite his struggles, Carty came out stronger and led the MLB in batting with an average of .366. He also held an on-base percentage of .454. Additionally, Carty recorded a hit in 31 consecutive games. Carty’s franchise record was unbeaten until 2011.
Carty was traded for two players to Oakland since things didn’t last long with the Blue Jays. The Braves star has also been a humble humanitarian as he contributed to developing the Dominican Republic. Carty’s unforgettable baseball career will be remembered. The star slugger will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and the entire baseball community.
